LOS PINOS
Santa Rosa, Guatemala
The finca (farm) behind all our dreams. Los Pinos has been in our family for over 80 years. Located in the beautiful mountainsides of Santa Rosa, Guatemala, Finca Los Pinos is operated by Jose "Chepe" Melgar (my father). Jose is a 3rd generation coffee farmer, who inherited custodianship of part of the original finca from his father. Jose's journey as a coffee producer is alittle different than most of the coffee farmers in Guatemala. Due to an unfortunate accident while driving through the perilous cliffside roads of Guatemala to sell coffee, Jose's car rolled off the side of the cliff and he managed to escape unscathed. The car, however, was totaled. Unable to make enough money in Guatemala after his accident, Jose immigrated to the United States in hopes of being able to pay back his father for the car that was lost in the accident. Jose lived and worked in California for over 30 years never loosing sight of his goals to one day return to the land that birthed him. His passion for agriculture grew over the years. In 2022, he finally made his dream to move back a reality. Jose now tends to the coffee finca and grows a variety of produce as well. The love and passion Jose exhibits for his crops is reflected in every pound of coffee he produces.
San Martin
Fraijanes, Guatemala
Located in the beautiful mountainsides of Guatemala, Finca San Martin is operated by Ramon "Moncho" Valenzula. Moncho is a 5th generation coffee farmer. He now serves as the main care taker of the finca now that his older siblings can no longer do a lot of the work that it takes to run a coffee finca. His knowledge and attention to his coffee plantation has made the coffee the land produces some of the highest quality coffee coming from the region of Fraijanes, Guatemala.
LA GLORIA
Santa Rosa, Guatemala
La Gloria is located in the mountainsides of Santa Rosa, Guatemala and it his home to almost every type of crop you can think of ranging from oranges, bananas, to mangos, and coffee ofcourse. Finca La Gloria is operated by Leonel Hernandez on behalf of his father Mario Hernandez. The Hernandez family pride themselves in running a completely organic finca from seed to cherry, using methods like companian planting to better their crops. Leonel describes their finca as the glory "because it has a little of everything, a true blessing from God". It takes but one phone conversation with Leonel to understand the passion with which they care for their coffee and land.
